Base in Agricultural Engineering

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs):

  • Provide students with a sound knowledge in the mathematics, science and engineering science required to solve agricultural engineering problems

  • Effectively identify and design sustainable solutions to address issues and global opportunities

  • Have successful professional careers in agro industries, government organization, educational / research/extension institute

  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills, ethical integrity, and professional engagement

  • Continue to learn to adapt in a world of evolving technology

Programme Outcomes (POs):

  • Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, agricultural science and basic engineering to analyse the complex engineering problems of agriculture.

  • Identify and formulate a research problem related to soil and water conservation engineering, irrigation and drainage engineering, farm machinery and power, renewable sources of energy, and process and food engineering.

  • Design soil conservation measures/ structures, irrigation and drainage systems, open well and tube well, farm implements/ tractor systems, and food processing and preservation equipment.

  • Model, simulate, conduct experiments and solve for engineering problems of agriculture and analyse the performance using modern tools.

  • Assess the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, sustainable and societal context.

  • Understand and practice professional ethics in implementation of solutions.

  • Work as a member of a project team to address the real problem of agricultural engineering.

  • Ability to communicate effectively to disseminate modern agricultural technology to the end users.

  • Understand the management of agricultural farms and agro-industries and their finances.

  • Pursue life-long learning for knowledge up gradation and skill development
