ACCF was established in 1996 with the objectives of promoting research by faculty members and encouraging advances studies to in interested students. Today ACCF plays a key role in the field of computer education not only in the institute but outside the campus too. The laboratory of ACCF has now 15 computer terminals for use of students and faculty members. The laboratory is provided with internet connections. The computing facility will be extended up to 25 terminals.
Other than scheduled class of computer programming and computer aided design include in NERIST academic programmes, the ACCF conducts software testing as an extension programme. Apart from NERIST students, faculty members and staff, local public, officers and staff of government and public establishments outside NERIST make use of such programmes.
ACCF laboratory is effectively used by all students for their computer based projects. The laboratory has colour laser printer, digital photo printer, scanner, LCD projectors, digital camera and many software like Visual studio, Adobe collection, Corel draw, 3D max, J Bulider, Fortran V90 etc.
The NERIST has state of art laboratories that give it an edge over others in the area of teaching, research and consultancy services and put it in the orbit of "Centres of Excellence". It has developed its infrastructure and facilities with utmost care and in a planned manner.
With excellent communication facilities like internet, VSAT, e-mail, fax, electronic library and a highly sophisticated and modern centralized computing facility along with LAN, the institute is poised to impart technical education at the highest level and can boast of one of the excellent centres of learning in this remote location.
