Office of the Dean of Students’ Affairs

The Office of the Dean of Students’ Affairs (DSA) is committed to fostering the all-round development of students, encompassing intellectual, physical, moral, mental, emotional, and social growth. Recognizing that the success and progress of the institute are closely tied to student achievements, the DSA oversees student activities and welfare on campus. As NERIST is a fully residential institution, the office assumes a pivotal role in supporting students’ diverse needs in their social and campus life. The Dean of Students’ Affairs is selected from among the professors and takes on this responsibility in addition to their regular duties.

Primary Functions and Activities

  • Ensuring comfortable hostel accommodation and residential facilities for students.
  • Promoting student participation in sports, technical, and cultural activities.
  • Organizing events and festivals to enhance campus vibrancy.
  • Supporting student creativity and club activities.
  • Encouraging extracurricular engagement through NSS and NCC programs.
  • Coordinating with the Training and Placement Cell to facilitate industrial training and job placements.
  • Providing psychological counselling to address mental health concerns and stress management.
  • Conducting orientation and induction programs for new students.
  • Maintaining a ragging-free campus environment by establishing anti-ragging cells, committees, and squads.
  • Upholding student discipline within the institute.
  • Advising the Student Union of NERIST (SUN) on initiatives for student development.

  • RACAF (Recreational and Creative Activities Forum): The grand annual cultural festival showcasing student creativity and cultural talent.
  • SYNERGY: The annual sports gala promoting athleticism, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • SHRISHTI: The annual Techno-Management Fest, celebrating innovation and managerial expertise.
