Department of Physics

About

The Department of Physics, fully aware of its role in training students according to their needs in physics education. The department has been offering M.Sc. (Physics) since 2009. Department will be commencing Four-Year B.Sc. (Physics) program as per NEP 2020 from 2025-2026 academic session. Apart from these, four core courses for the undergraduate students at different levels (Certificate and Degree modules) of Engineering streams as also offered.  The fields of specialization of physics faculty cover a wide spectrum of theoretical and experimental physics viz. polymer physics, plasma physics, experimental and theoretical nuclear physics, liquid crystal, Electronics, microwave electronics, High Energy Physics and semiconductor physics. Through their active and intense research work the faculty members has been publishing research articles in reputed peer reviewed journals . Also, some of the faculty members have acted as reviewers of DST and CSIR projects by other scientists for possible funding and Ph. D. thesis adjudicators.
