The research aims to deliver a micro hydro power generation plant utilizing river resources for Likor village of Arunachal Pradesh where a small community of tribals resides. Implementing an economically feasible rural electrification initiative leveraging renewable energy sources to ensure sustainable and affordable power access in remote areas is the main goal of the project. Optimizing renewable sources by identifying and deploying the most suitable solutions tailored to the specific energy needs and geographic constraints of remote regions in Arunachal Pradesh. The economic sustainability will establishing a revenue-generating model through the installed power plant, aiming not just for electrification but also fostering economic sustainability and growth within the community. Some comprehensive surveys conducted between June 2022 and May 2023 unveiled persistent challenges of inconsistent and insufficient power supply across rural Arunachal Pradesh. To tackle these pressing issues, this study advocates for the implementation of a microgrid connected system specifically in Likor, Arunachal Pradesh. Utilizing statistical data from these surveys, a hybrid system simulation is proposed. The suggested solution involves the installation of a versatile power plant, ranging from a Low Estimate capacity of 150 kWh/day to a High Estimate of 310 kWh/day. This approach aims to effectively mitigate ongoing electricity challenges in the village, promising a sustainable resolution to interrupted power supply, thereby alleviating the concerns of the local residents.
The project aims to deliver a micro hydro power generation plant utilizing river resources for Likor village, ensuring a reliable electricity supply. Concurrently, solar photovoltaic systems will be deployed in northeast India’s hilly terrain to complement the hydro plant. The deliverables include establishing sustainable electricity infrastructure, addressing the absence of reliable power due to infrastructure and funding limitations, and providing comprehensive documentation encompassing feasibility studies, system specifications, and implementation reports. Understanding the pressing need for sustainable energy solutions in remote village, Arunachal Pradesh, due to the anticipated limitations of conventional energy sources by 2050. The data collection aims to quantify electrical load consumption and energy demands specifically in remote village, providing empirical evidence for subsequent analysis. Designing a microgrid system tailored for Likor village by integrating generators (gensets), solar panels, and hydropower equipment. The system is engineered for operational flexibility, optimized renewable resource utilization, and effective management of electricity costs.
Ultimately, the project strives to offer reliable and sustainable electricity, fostering socio-economic growth while reducing dependence on unreliable power sources for a remote village.
