ALUMNI ACHIEVERS AWARD CEREMONY ON THE OCCASION OF THE 11TH CONVOCATION

His Excellency, Lt. Gen. Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik, PVSM, USVM, YSM (Retd), Governor of Arunachal Pradesh and President of the NERIST Society, with Prof. M.S.M. Rawat, Chairman, BoM (NERIST), Prof. Devendra Jalihal, Director (IIT Guwahati), Prof. Narendranath S., Director (NERIST), Prof. Tado Karlo, Dean (Alumni, NERIST) and other functionaries of NERIST.

NERIST was established 1984 to develop the human resource of the North East region to address the urgent need to fill the technical manpower gap existing that time. However, it envisioned itself as producing leaders in the field of Teaching, R & D and Entrepreneurship in the long term. Today, it stands tall with its alumni who are prominent professors, scientists and successful entrepreneurs. Spin-offs from NERIST education system are several high -ranking administrators, managers, engineers, sports persons and politicians within the country. Many are serving as executives in companies abroad.  For the first time, NERIST has recognized the achievements of its alumni that align with the vision of the Institute at its 11th Convocation, on November 21, 2025. Thanks to Prof. M.S.M. Rawat, BoM Chairman for his initiative. Five alumni were selected for the Alumni Achiever Award for the exceptional achievements in their chosen fields; three in the field of Research & Development, one in Teaching & Research and one in the field of Entrepreneurship. Those awarded for R & D were recognized mainly for their Contributions to the Success of the Chandrayan-3 Mission.
