Prof. G. S. Murthy (B.Tech. Agricultural Engineering, NERIST, 2001 with a Gold Medal) exemplifies a transformative journey from student to global leader in sustainable bioprocessing and systems engineering.

After earning his M. Tech. degree from IIT Kharagpur (2003) and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2006), he rose to tenured Full Professor at Oregon State University (2017–2022) and now serves as Professor at IIT Indore (2019–present), National Coordinator for Indian Knowledge Systems Division, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India (2021–present), and Head of the Centre for Scientific Indian Knowledge Systems at IIT Indore.

He has been awarded the Alumni Achiever Award for his stellar achievements in the field of education and research.
