On August 22, 2025, Dr. Yana Bagbi, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics and Astrophysics, University of Delhi, delivered an invited lecture on “Waste Bamboo Derived Magnetically Separable Engineered Bamboo Activated Carbon for the Purification of Water”. Dr. Bagbi’s research focuses on developing cost-effective and eco-friendly solutions for water purification, highlighting her expertise in engineered nanosorbents.Dr. Bagbi discussed the development of magnetically separable bamboo-activated carbon (MABC), a novel nanoadsorbent derived from waste bamboo biomass.

Dr. Bagbi’s work showcases the viability of bamboo as a renewable biomass material in wastewater treatment, offering a promising alternative to traditional carbon-based materials .
