Department of Civil Engineering, NERIST, Observes Swachhata Pakhwada with Enthusiasm.

The Department of Civil Engineering, NERIST, successfully observed Swachhata Pakhwada from September 1 to 15, 2025, as part of the nationwide cleanliness campaign. The initiative witnessed active participation from students, faculties, and staffs, who came together in support of a cleaner and greener environment.

The observance began with an inaugural address by the Head of the Department, highlighting the importance of cleanliness and its connection to sustainable development. Throughout the fortnight, the department conducted a series of cleanliness drives in and around the campus, including classroom cleaning, lab upkeep, corridor sanitization, and outdoor beautification.

A major highlight was the campus-wide clean-up drive on September 8, where over 250 students, along with faculty and staff, participated in sweeping, waste segregation, and general cleaning activities—showcasing unity and commitment to the cause.

The initiative not only improved campus hygiene but also fostered civic responsibility among participants, reinforcing the department’s continued support for the Swachh Bharat Mission.
