The Department of Electrical Engineering has been playing a pivotal role in producing scientists and technologists of highest caliber ever since the institute was established. The first batch of students graduated in 1992. The Department follow a two-year modular structure of the institute in undergraduate programmes namely, Base module, Diploma module and Degree module. The students for each module are admitted through NERIST Entrance Examination namely, NEE-I, NEE-II and NEE-III respectively. The Department is also offering Postgraduate (M. Tech) programmes with specialization in Power System Engineering and Ph. D programmes to cater to the ever challenging needs of technical excellence in all areas of Electrical Engineering.
The Department has distinguished faculty members having Ph. D/M. Tech degrees from renowned institutes in India. The infrastructure and laboratory facilities are upgraded from time to time and provide adequate opportunities for students and researches to learn and innovate.
